AIM is worked with the California Endowment and Sacramento County managing a cross sectorial effort for the Stockton/Fruitridge Neighborhood Opportunity Site Vision Action Plan. The project evaluated both community needs and development opportunities in the Stockton/Fruitridge Neighborhood that will improve the community’s health and quality of life. The Vision Action Plan addressed near term development opportunities on key vacant sites in the neighborhood along with long term development goals that will build from the near term successes. The comprehensive community engagement plan included a series of Stakeholder Advisory Committee meetings with stakeholders representing the local neighborhood, public health, property owners, business organizations, community-based organizations, and active transportation interests. The stakeholder meeting work focused on facilitated conversations to create guiding principles and discuss community values to help shape the Vision Action Plan. In addition to focused stakeholder work, AIM launched a community-wide effort to involve residents in the development of the plan. This effort included hosting neighborhood specific community meetings, as well as attending community events to make participation convenient for everyone. AIM attended the opening day of the local Little League to talk to families about the project, and gather feedback on destinations in their neighborhoods. The project team incorporated community feedback into a Vision Action Plan that addressed the market factors to attract quality development that meets the community’s needs.
- AIM was instrumental in developing and implementing successful communications strategies that highlighted the District's efforts to both a local and regional audience.
